True Peer-to-Peer Operation

Scenario: Small Office with 3 PCs only.

Imagine a small office with 3 persons only - Eric, John and Peter. Eric may backup his data to John's computer. Similarly, John may backup his data to Peter's computer and so on. No dedicated server is necessary!!

Client-Driven Operation

Most server/client backup solutions are server-driven. Most administration work are performed on server side. Some solutions even commence the backup operation from server! In contrast, Backup To Neighbor is client-driven. Most operations are performed on client side.

Let review the scenario above! Once John has setup the backup server for Eric, Eric may perform all backup/restore operation on his own PC. Eric does not need to disturb John to configure/administrate the backup server. John may use his own PC as usual.
